David began attending The Ridge back in 1999 when it was called Berean Bible Church, after moving to Columbus from Dallas, TX. He has been involved in a variety of activities at The Ridge, ranging from dramas, hosting Ridge Kids and serving as a Small Group leader for the 4th and 5th-grade boys, to participation in several construction projects at the old building and other odd jobs. His full-time job is with Cummins, which is what brought him to Columbus in the first place. He has served on the Elder Board since 2011.
David is not from around here. He was born in Australia and moved to the US in 1989. In his spare time, he likes to ride his bike, hike, do woodworking and read. He is married to Carol, who is also very active in the church, and has two children, Kapri and Kian. Both kids are now out of the house, so they are empty nesters – except for the two little dogs, Miya and Lola, who are Yorkshire Terriers. If forced to choose, Carol would probably prefer to spend time with the dogs over David.
A native of Manilla, IN (350 people on a good day), Dan LeClerc is a lifelong Hoosier and a proud graduate of Franklin College. Besides serving as one of The Ridge’s elders, Dan also fills in as one of our regular guest speakers. Over the years, he has served three different congregations in central Indiana as an interim pastor, so he enjoys the opportunity to bring our message occasionally. Dan also volunteers as an onstage character in Ridge Kids.
A business consultant by profession, he works in strategic planning, executive coaching, training and speaking throughout the country. An avid touring cyclist, Dan loves to take on long bike trips to raise funds and awareness for charities. He and his wife, Tammie, a middle school teacher, have three grown sons: Josh, Connor and Adam.
Mark and his wife Barb moved to Columbus in October of 1989 and have been Ridgers ever since. They have two adult children, Rebecca and Stephen and a soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Sierra. Mark has been a board member for most of his time at The Ridge. He also serves in many “service production” areas at The Ridge (video, drama, planning).
When not at The Ridge, Mark runs his own metrology (notice that’s not meteorology or metallurgy) company where he develops mathematics and software for measurement systems. This takes him across the U.S. and all over the world – working with international companies and standardization organizations.
Mark is a huge movie fan and loves to cook. One of his favorite places to be: the middle of the fairway, about 120 yards from the green.
Mike, his wife Tammy, and their family began attending The Ridge in 2002. Mike serves on the financial team at The Ridge and is also an after-service counselor. Mike is Vice President – Engine Business Finance, at Cummins. He is affectionately referred to as “The Money Guy” by our Lead Pastor, because of his rather unusual enthusiasm for analyzing financial numbers (both at work and at church). Mike and Tammy have four children and are the very proud grandparents of five grandchildren.
When not working or spending time with family, Mike loves sports and finds them to be a great diversion in life. He’s trying to figure out how to continue watching football since Peyton Manning retired. You’ll still find him on the basketball court on Saturday mornings, against the advisement of his wife and orthopedic doctor.
Tim joined the board at The Ridge as an elder in January 2015. He enjoys serving in several other ways at The Ridge as well; one of the things he enjoys the most is helping develop unique creative elements for our weekend services.
Tim grew up in Peru, Indiana where he met his wife, Vicki. He then went on to graduate from Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. Tim has personally disqualified himself as a character reference to anyone wanting to attend Grace, suggesting that his status with the college might still be in question and the statute of limitations on certain matters may not have expired.
Tim now resides in Columbus with his wife, their two sons, Reagan and Rylan, and their black lab, Benelli. He is the general manager of Mougeotte Publishing in Anderson, Indiana. When Tim has a free moment, he likes watching Reagan play soccer, Rylan rodeo, and camping and kayaking with his family.
Kevin enjoys the variety of roles he has participated in at the Ridge since first attending in 2006. Building community, seeing lives changed, and watching his family grow through life at the Ridge has been most rewarding for Kevin.
Kevin and his wife, Jessica, have five children. Kevin enjoys the adventures of five kids, spending time with friends, and exploring the outdoors.
James has been attending The Ridge since 2008. He enjoys singing with the Worship Team for adult services and is frequently seen playing the claves, a tambourine, a cabasa, or the congas. He sings for the Ridge Kids Worship Team as well. On Sunday evenings, you are likely to see him helping out with audio for teen ministries, or teaching.
James and his wife Kammy have four adult children: Rachel (married to Peter), Hannah, Levi, and Micah. When not at work at Cummins or hanging out at The Ridge, James enjoys tinkering in the garage either fixing a car or trying to make something out of wood, working in the yard and garden, or watching Iowa State basketball. His favorite vacations involve camping with his family at national parks.
