Jerry provides overall leadership for the staff and the church and is the primary teacher. Jerry is a Bryan College and Dallas Theological Seminary Graduate. Jerry has been on staff since 1990, and has been the lead pastor since 1997.
Jerry and Janet have three adult children. One of Jerry’s hobbies is fitness. He enjoys competing in triathlons and even an occasional half marathon. Jerry relaxes by spending time with his wife or kids (when they are around) and by watching sports (football, basketball, baseball, golf, racing, or whatever is in season).
Read Jerry’s “Whatever it takes” blog here.
Josh joined the staff in January of 2017 as Teaching Pastor. He left the Philadelphia area, cheesesteaks, and the 76ers to join The Ridge to help shape the teaching ministry. He also oversees the family ministries.
Josh went to Penn State University (go Nittany Lions!) and Biblical Theological Seminary. He is passionate about helping people better understand the Bible, what it means, and why it matters. More than anything, he wants people to know and have a relationship with Jesus.
Josh and his wife Bethany have three children: Bauer, Izzy, and Callyn. He loves hanging out with Bethany, playing and watching sports (if you wear uniforms and keep score, he’s in), traveling, reading, watching movies (regardless of how bad the reviews are), searching out street art, and footwear of the casual sneaker variety. If you want to connect with Josh, email him at firstname.lastname@example.org or find him on twitter @thefakejoshcrum.
STUDENT MINISTRIES PASTOR
Randy and his wife, Stacey, have three children: Samantha, Jake and Eli.
Randy provides oversight for all our “student” ministries from the nurseries through senior high, including “Ridge Kids” (2 year olds through 6th grade), “E3” (junior high), and “212°” (senior high).
Randy is a little bit of a Giants football fan (note son Eli’s name!). He is a Cedarville College and Trinity Theological Seminary graduate, and has been on staff since 2002.
Adam and his wife Abbie have two children: Asher and Aliza.
Adam helps people get connected to each other and to Christ. He oversees the life groups ministry, pastoral care, leadership development and helping people take the next step in getting plugged in around The Ridge. He is a graduate from Lincoln Christian University and Hope International University and has been on staff since 2014.
Adam loves watching football, enjoys a great mystery novel, is a hot wings fanatic and is licensed by the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board as a Cheesecylopedia.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY DIRECTOR
Melanie and her husband, David, have three boys – Philip, Derrick, and A.J.
Melanie provides leadership for all of our children’s ministries from the nurseries through 6th grade – including our Little Ridge Kids and our Ridge Kids programs.
Melanie holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Indiana University and has been on staff part time since 2005.
When she’s not working with a staff of overgrown boys at The Ridge, she’s busy with four more at home (yes, that includes David): cooking meals, cleaning up after them, cheering at ball games, and helping with homework. In her free time, Melanie enjoys watching football, curling up with a good novel, shopping, and vacationing wherever there is a beach.
Mike and his wife LouAnn have three adult sons: Ben, Nick (married to Melissa and they have three of the cutest grandkids on the planet, Lincoln, Harper and Crosby), and Josh.
Mike began his relationship with Christ right here at this church in 1978 and has been here ever since. Mike became part of the staff in 1990. Mike handles the operations side of the church (business, budgets, buildings, etc.) including the support staff. In addition, Mike is responsible for our First Impressions Teams, logistical ministries, and many other “behind-the-scenes” functions.
When Mike isn’t at the church he enjoys spending time with family and friends, engaged with fitness, building something, or working around the house.
Jess and her husband, Brian, have two energetic little boys – Cohen (4) and Ty (2).
She started attending The Ridge in 2010 and came on staff in April of 2017 – in this role she oversees all of The Ridge’s communication processes and messaging. She helps craft messages for upcoming promotions, events and Sunday mornings. She is also behind-the-screen managing The Ridge’s social media communities. She graduated from Purdue University in 2005 with a degree in Communications. In 2010 she started a marketing consulting company called Pink House Marketing, Inc.
When she isn’t working, chasing kids or picking up tiny Legos off the floor – she enjoys running, writing, skiing, playing guitar and meeting new people.
James and his wife Melani have three young sons – Bryce, Grant, and Collin.
James is responsible for overseeing the Music, Technical, and Production Teams. This includes organizing and equipping groups to lead through music and other creative elements used in our services.
James became a follower of Jesus at the age of 17, while singing in a group that traveled to churches around the region. James became a member of The Ridge in 1999 and joined the staff in a part time capacity in 2008. He was hired full time in 2014.
If James isn’t spending time with his family or playing music, he is probably holding a fishing pole…..or at least thinking about it. James enjoys fishing, camping, hunting, kids’ sports teams, and anything else you can do outside.
Bob has been on staff since May of 1994. Bob’s official title is Maintenance Technician; however, he is the Technician of Anything & Everything. Bob uses his skill set to do all the maintenance work of the church (construction, repair, lawn/landscaping, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technical). In addition, Bob is also a key player in the creation of all the incredible stage designs we enjoy.
Bob grew up just down the road in Hope, Indiana. He and his wife, Beth, love spending time with their family and friends. Bob loves music, tech stuff, outdoors/camping, and mountain biking. As a volunteer, Bob enjoys serving as a sound technician for our services on Sunday morning and as part of the video/audio edit crew.
After teaching for several years in an elementary school and looking for a change, Tricia began assisting the staff in 2002 and never looked back! She is happiest when she’s able to make someone else’s job easier, and still gets her teaching “fix” when editing Jerry’s blogs with a bright red pen.
Tricia and her husband, Jeff, have 2 children, Rachel and Andrew. When she finds extra time in the midst of all things parenting, her two favorite places to meander are art museums and any wide, open spaces outdoors.
Ginger started at The Ridge in December 2014, as direct support for the Connections and Operations pastors. She spends her time juggling projects for them, doing upkeep on ridgeconnect and handling incoming emails. Her goal is to leave at the end of every day with her inbox empty! Since starting, she has also picked up the title of “recycling czar.” A self-proclaimed efficiency expert, she will organize and sort anything she can get her hands on.
Ginger grew up near Jonesville on a farm, where she developed a love of nature, reading and swinging on the porch. You can frequently find her having lunch on the patio at The Ridge with a good book. When not at work she also loves playing games with her family, nature photography and anything crafty. Ginger and her husband, Frank, have one son, Reid, and three cats, Sirius, Claudia and Gandalf.
Barb has been a part-time administrative assistant at The Ridge since November of 2005. Her primary duties include weekly bulletin production, music and message slides preparation and scheduling of the technical teams. She’s kind of a nerd and loves the technical side of the various programs that she uses at The Ridge. She also enjoys interacting with volunteers and getting people plugged in. Barb volunteers as a singer on the Music Team.
Barb grew up in Michigan as the 7th of 8 children. She met her husband, Mark, at college and they’ve been married since December of 1989. They’ve been attending The Ridge ever since. They have two adult children, Rebecca and Stephen. Barb enjoys travelling with Mark when he travels for business across the U.S. and internationally. She also enjoys reading, watching TV and movies, attending musicals, watching the Colts, playing/watching tennis and golf, and a good nap.
Hannah began working at The Ridge in May of 2013, supporting the Music and Youth pastors. Her responsibilities range anywhere from creating volunteer schedules to filling up hundreds of water balloons and flour bombs. She loves all the different opportunities she has to serve at The Ridge. Hannah also nannies for a family with four children, so juggling schedules is a constant.
Hannah grew up in Columbus and has lived here her entire life aside from six months spent at a Bible school in Germany. She loves being outside, camping, hiking, playing music, playing sports, or gazing at the stars. In her free time you will most likely find her hanging out with kids, enjoying the outdoors, traveling, doing crafts, or playing board games with her family and friends.
Jerry joined the staff part-time at the beginning of 2014. His business skills are used assisting with day-to-day operations of The Ridge as well as for financial duties, and his technology skills keep the computer technology humming along throughout the facility. His week is never boring assisting or managing facility projects.
Jerry also stays very busy working part-time at his family’s company. During his free time, he enjoys hiking and exploring state and national parks with his camera at his side. Jerry’s bucket list is to visit every national park in the US and Canada, with several already marked off his list.
Jerry and his wife, Kimberly, have been long-time active members of The Ridge. They are almost empty nesters, as their two children, Evan and Michaela, are now in college.
