This past weekend was Vision Weekend here at The Ridge, and we spent some time talking about where we believe God is leading us as a church. We talked about Reach More. We talked about what God is already doing in Decatur County. We talked about our plans to launch the Greensburg campus in 2027.
 
Can I tell you? I'm excited about all of it.
 
But I also don't want us to miss something really important: The Ridge isn't the only one being sent. You are, too.
 
In Romans 10, Paul asks a series of questions that build on each other:
How can people call on Jesus if they don't believe in Him?
How can they believe if they've never heard?
How can they hear unless someone tells them?
And how can someone tell them unless they're sent?
 
That's where this gets personal.
 
Sometimes we hear the word "sent" and immediately think of pastors or missionaries. Maybe we think of someone moving across the world. Or, right now at The Ridge, maybe we think about Justin Reid and the team preparing to launch our Greensburg campus. And certainly, they are being sent.
 
But so are you.
 
Your workplace isn't random.
Your neighborhood isn't random.
The parents you sit beside at your kid's ball game aren't random.
The person you see at the coffee shop every week isn't random.
The friend who keeps opening up to you about what they're going through isn't random.
 
You don't have to cross an ocean to be on mission. Sometimes you just have to cross the street.
 
As we left Vision Weekend, we talked about three ways we can all individually respond.
 
First, pray for Greensburg. Before we launch a campus, before we hold a service, before we set up a chair, we want to pray. Pray for Justin and his family. Pray for the launch team. Pray for Decatur County. Most importantly, pray for people who don't know Jesus yet. If you’ll commit to praying with us, text PRAY to 812.408.1188 and we'll send you a new prayer focus each week.
 
Second, consider joining the Greensburg launch team. Maybe you live in Decatur County. Maybe you have family or friends there. Maybe God has simply been stirring something in you as we've talked about this campus. You don't have to have it all figured out. Just be willing to take a next step and explore whether God might be sending you with us.
 
But the third response is for every single one of us: Name one person God is sending you to reach.
 
One person.
Maybe it's your neighbor. Maybe it's a coworker. Maybe it's someone in your family.
Maybe their name came to your mind before you even finished reading that sentence.
 
Write their name down.
 
Pray for them. Ask God to open your eyes to what's happening in their life. Ask Him to give you an opportunity to love them well. And then be willing to take a step when that opportunity comes. Send the text. Buy the coffee. Invite them to church. Ask how they're really doing. Offer to pray with them. Share what Jesus has done in your life.
 
You don't have to have all the answers.
You don't have to force a spiritual conversation.
You don't have to become someone you're not.
 
And this is the part I can't stop thinking about…
 
Imagine if hundreds of us each chose one person.
Hundreds of names.
Hundreds of prayers.
Hundreds of conversations.
Hundreds of invitations.
Hundreds of opportunities for someone to experience the hope of Jesus.
 
Most of those moments probably won't feel extraordinary. There probably won't be dramatic music playing in the background. You may not even realize in the moment that God is doing something. But that's how the gospel has always moved. Ordinary people saying yes to God in ordinary places. Somewhere along the way, somebody did that for you. Somebody prayed. Somebody invited. Somebody had a conversation. Somebody told somebody, who told somebody, who eventually told you about Jesus.
 
That's the kind of church I want us to be. Yes, a church willing to go to Greensburg. But also, a church willing to go across the street. Across the office. Across the ball field. Across the room. Wherever God has already placed us.
 
So, here's the question I hope sticks with you this week: Where has God already sent you?
And maybe even more importantly: What's the name of the person He's sending you to reach?
 
You've already been sent. Now, let's go.
