At The Ridge, we believe the Bible is the guide for our life. We hope the following statements help you become better acquainted with our core beliefs.

The Bible is God’s perfect guidebook for living…

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write its pages. Because of that, we believe the Bible is without error and is the perfect guidebook for life.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

God is the creator of the universe, has existed forever, and is bigger, better, and closer than we can imagine…

We believe that God is one, but reveals Himself through the persons of the Trinity as The Father, The Son as Jesus, and The Holy Spirit. And because of that, we believe that each Person of this Trinity is God.
(1 Corinthians 8:6, 6:44; Romans 1:7; Isaiah 9:6; John. 1:1; Acts 5:3; Hebrews. 9:14; John. 4:24)

Jesus is God showing Himself to us…

We believe that Jesus is God showing Himself to us. Jesus became fully human when His mother Mary, a virgin, gave birth to Him, to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the world.
(John 1:1-2, 12, 14)

Through His Holy Spirit, God can live in and through us now…

We believe that the Holy Spirit is God. He lives in believers, marking them as His possession, empowering them to live out godly characteristics in their lives, and equipping them to serve God.
(John 14:16-17; Ephesians 4:30; Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:4)

God has allowed evil to provide us with a choice…

We believe that mankind was created in the image of God to have a relationship with Him, but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience when tempted by Satan. As a result, man is incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through his own effort.
(Genesis 1:27; Romans 5:12; Titus 3:5)

The only way to have a relationship with God is to accept His gift to us and rely on Jesus’ death for our sins…

We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. And because of that, salvation occurs only when people repent of their sins and place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sins. Once people place their faith in Christ, they are adopted into God’s family and are assured of eternal life.
(Ephesians 1:7; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. Baptism by immersion is a fundamental step of obedience for believers, and every Christian should regularly participate in communion. By obedience to the Bible and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and become more like Jesus Christ.
(Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Romans 8:5)

The church is to serve people just as Jesus served people…

We believe that Jesus Christ established the church as His primary method of building His Kingdom until His return. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him, serving Him, and by making Him known to the world.
(Matthew 16:18; Acts 1:8)

Heaven and hell are real places. Death is a beginning, not the end…

We believe when people die, their decision to trust Christ in this life will determine their eternal destiny. Jesus will literally return one day to earth, bringing an end to history as we know it, ushering in eternity for all people.
(Hebrews 9:27; Acts 1:11)
