Finding Strength Together
"Life doesn't get easier or more forgiving; we get stronger and more resilient."—Steve Maraboli
If you've lived long enough, you've probably discovered there's a lot of truth in that quote. Life can be hard. We've all experienced hurt, disappointment, betrayal, grief, or unmet expectations. None of us are immune to life's challenges.
But God never intended for us to navigate those challenges alone. From the very beginning, He created us for relationship—with Him and with one another. We were made to have people beside us who encourage us, support us, speak truth to us, and remind us of God's faithfulness when life gets difficult. As Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 (NLT) says, “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help.”
And research continues to reinforce just how much these relationships matter. In recent years, counselors have talked more about trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), helping us better understand how difficult experiences can shape our lives. At the same time, researchers have found something encouraging: one of the biggest factors in building resilience is having a healthy, supportive community. People who are surrounded by caring relationships often recover more quickly from hardship and are less likely to experience long-term effects from trauma.
Resilience is our ability to adapt, heal, and keep moving forward when life gets difficult. And one of the greatest contributors to resilience isn't something we do alone—it's the people we choose to walk through life with.
Simply put: who you spend time with matters. And when life gets hard, it matters even more.
Finding "your people"—people who understand your struggles, celebrate your victories, and point you toward Jesus—can change everything. While we won't experience perfect community this side of heaven, healthy, Christ-centered relationships give us a glimpse of the life God desires for us.
That's why Groups are such an important part of life at The Ridge. Whether you're looking to study the Bible, connect with other men or women, find support through recovery, heal from trauma, or simply grow in your emotional and spiritual health, there's a group for you.
Whatever season of life you're in, you don't have to walk through it alone. Take your next step today and join a Group. We'd love to help you build meaningful relationships and experience the strength that comes from walking through life together.
We can't wait to help you find your people.
Whatever it takes,
