The Full Story

The reason I’m at The Ridge could be boiled down to two things – faithfulness and calling. In my life, I have felt called to do ministry. However, if I’m honest, there have been times when I didn't want to and also times when I've tried not to. But, when the call came in January of 2014 to work at The Ridge as the Connections Pastor, I knew it was time to remain faithful to Him and His calling on my life.

What I Do

Starting in July of 2019, I am transitioning into the role of Lead Pastor. As Jerry gets ready to retire, I am excited about stepping into several different roles of leadership here at The Ridge. This includes leadership of staff and teams, teaching, and leading the charge to continue to do whatever it takes to reach our community for Christ. I love the vision God has put before us, and I'm looking forward to seeing what God will do next. I also lead our staff March Madness bracket.

Life Before The Ridge

Before coming to The Ridge, I worked within other churches and also as a broker at Charles Schwab. I studied worship ministry/Bible at Lincoln Christian University and Leadership at Hope International University. I’m also recognized by the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board as a Cheesecylopedia.

Words I Live By

My life verse is Romans 15:13. It says, "I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” (NLT) How amazing is it that God is the source of our hope, joy, and peace? All He asks is for us to trust Him. This verse has helped me in ministry as well as in my personal journey battling anxiety, as a husband, dad, and Christ-follower.

When I'm Not at Work, I...

When I’m not working or wrangling three busy kids, you can find me at the movies (for the popcorn), watching whatever sport is on TV (go Colts!), or reading a spy novel – who doesn’t like a great mindless read every now and then?

Something that May Surprise You

I don’t like getting my hair cut – I hate everything about it, except the final product.
